Default Interior Lamp Circuit Difference?

I noticed something strange the other day when doing the LED interior conversion in mine and my girlfriends' cars.

the LEDs in her map lights (as expected) stay very dimly lit when the circuit dims down to completely off. Mine on the other hand turn off completely.

Both cars are '08, hers is a little later build than mine.

Anyone know if they changed anything mid-year?

It has been discussed, but no answer for your particular question. The popcorn just means I want to know the answer too.

By the way, I had the LEDs on my 06, and have now put them on my 08 (also an early production JSB 08) and in both cars stayed very dimly lit. From all I've read, its NOT a problem, and I haven't had any battery drain issues, but being a Corvette dude, we are probably all a little **** about them.

If it makes you feel better tho, I have a friend who has had them on his 05 for over 2 years and no dead battery problems.

(but I still would prefer they turned off!!)

The change that I am aware of that would be in that circuit is the wash light that used to reside in the base of the passenger vanity mirror was deleted. This change occured in January of 2007 as a running change in the 2008 model year cars.

I have not looked at the schematic to see if it was in the same circuit.

ahhhh i forgot about that! I wonder if that little bulb has anything to do with it.

My car has it, hers does not.

As silly as it will sound there is going to be resistance associated with that little bulb. That resistance will allow for a voltage drop across it.

Without the bulb, the resistance and the added voltage drop it will allow the voltage drop to increase across the remaining lights in the circuit.

That may be the difference in the circuit resistance that prevents the lights from remaining on.

Here is a copy of the interior lighting schematic and the wash light is wired in parallel with the mirror lights as far as I can tell.
