I've parked my car where no one should, just to see that fact. It seems to be true, either people go out of thier way to get a better look. Or subconciously they know that you intensionally parked that far out so that no one would park next to you but still do......................Joe
With all due respect...why is it that any car parked next to a C6 is so often referred to as a POS? That car may be every bit as valuable to its owner as your C6 is to you. Certainly its owner has an obligation to exercise care when opening the door (so as not to hit the adjacent parked car) but they certainly have the right to use any available parking space...just as you do. Maybe finding a parking spot where no one can park next to you would be less stressful.

This car was a POS by any sane persons observation, dents, huge rust patches on the hood, vintage commodity model. Of course folks can park in any legal spot. I usually do find an out of the way spot when possible but I live in a densly populated area. Sometimes you get what get, but given the POS magnet the C6 is, it really doesn't matter.
My main point is more that of like Murphy's law, no matter where you park, one of these cars always seems to find it's way to park next to you.
Clearly, a person with a POS car may exercise the same due care as we do with our C6's while parking and opening the door, but with all due respect, by the looks of some of these cars, there seems to be a lack of ownership pride in play that would support this due care posture.

It happens. I went to the dentist and parked my car WAY out in the middle of nowhere in a large parking lot. As I was in the waiting room looking off in the distance at my car I see a large ford sedan pull next to it. Sure enough, a couple of snowbirds swing their doors open and get out. Why they'd want to park so far away as I did is a mystery, and why they felt it had to be right next to my car boggles my mind. No damage, but I don't think I would've been able to control myself if I saw them bang their door into it.
One of the points to be made here, is that for some reason I could park in a no parking zone in the middle of a field furthest for the place everyone is trying to get to and before a can look back here it comes an 86 Windstar truckster with a rod knock and full of kids has to park right next to me not one spot away, but 13'' from me. Go figure..........Joe
Here's a funny story. I'm sitting at a Starbucks having a too expensive coffee when I see a woman attempting to parallel park her car in front of my vehicle, which I had for 3 months. When I parked on the street I made sure there was a huge spot in front of me and plenty of room for the guy behind me to get out.
Anyway, she backs into the spot and the back of her bumper appeared to strike my front hood. I quickly walked ( ran) out to the street and she saw me coming. She quickly ran to the back of her car, looked at it and then started to get back into it. I asked her if she hit it. She said no. Before she had a chance to move it I looked and saw her rear bumper about 1/8 of an inch from my hood. Her bumper was actually over my front bumper. She then moves her car up about 3 feet, gets out of it and then goes into a store. I was pissed but I went back into Starbucks to finish my coffee. As I was leaving, a car was attempting to park in front of the woman who almost hit me, and the man backs up, hits her bumper, moves forward a foot, and then gets out of his car. He was also coming into Starbucks. He saw me and I said, "glad that wasn't my car you hit". He smiled and said he barely touched it. I asked him what he'd do if someone hits his car and he said " I'd probably sue him". I left and will never parallel park again.

How about getting on the train and the train is almost completely empty , maybe 2 people on board the lady that snaps the gum or the guy who has BO has to sit next too you WTF
I Agree 100%. It never fails some dipSH*^ always does it. Just the other night I parked at a Vons market it was somewhat late and the parking lot was almost empty.
I park on an end spot, and keep in mind there was 2 1/2 rows empty where anyone can go.
Anyway as the wife and I walk out only to see some eggbeater piece of SH*^ parked less than 2' away and by the looks of it he had maybe a few inches between his open door and my door.
I started a bit and the wife just says "calm down it's okay"
I told her "no it's not the whole lot is empty and *** breath has to park right here." She just rolled her eyes at me and said "whatever"
I think this is the reason I DON'T let her drive it. The last few times I let her drive my other cars, well lets see..........
She scraped the side of a Vette I had some years back, scraped the side of my Suburban a couple years ago, closed the garage door on the hood of it not too long after, made a hole in the interior putting something in, scraped the front bumper of my Eddie Bauer Expedition 3 months ago.
So on that note, should I let her drive the Vette ???????
I'm sorry Ive put too much time, detail into it for it to get messed up, but I will probably let her drive it with me in the car.

I think God has a sense of humor and He has made this a universal law. I could park in the middle of the Sahara and a garbage truck would park next to me.
HOW could you POSSIBLY call that car next to you a POS?? In fact, it may be a vintage Thunderbird Super Coupe!! Show some appreciation of a fine machine!!
