Default Do They Do it On Purpose?

No matter where I park, more times than not I come back and there is a POS car parked right next to me. You know, one of those cars where the owner has no worries about swinging out their door at full speed.

There are just not that many beaters out there. What's the deal?

Notice all the available spots not chosen by the POS.

I've parked my car where no one should, just to see that fact. It seems to be true, either people go out of thier way to get a better look. Or subconciously they know that you intensionally parked that far out so that no one would park next to you but still do......................Joe

I know what you are saying - on the other hand it doesn't look to me like you parked anywhere "special" to begin with (on an end, etc). It's a free country - people can park next to you if they choose to.

Maybe they are so awestruck by your nice ride that they park close to it so they can get a closer look...

Maybe they think if they park next to greatness, something will rub off.

Most likely that person could care less about what he/she parks next to. I try not to be snobby about where I park but it always pays to park next to or in between nice cars. That at least helps until they leave. A very large human-looking swine slammed my new Tundra just the other day. I had many very bad thoughts, but I went home, got out the 3M polish and rubbed for a while.

At least the driver's side door was parked away from you on both sides. Chances are there was only a single occupant in each greatly reducing the chances of a door ding.

I hate it when someone parks next to me in a public parking lot.

Why do car drivers park next to my truck? I park far and away so no one parks next to me. I have a very long truck. I need space to back out, even pull forward while turning to exit.
I also need the room to get my door open without banging into the car next to mine. I have returned to find a lady, never a man, with her door open, pressing into my paint. Then get a verbal response of, "It's not hurting anything. It's no big deal."
Welcome to a world where people project their values on to others. Pure judgment, yet the world denies it has a judgment issue. Many people are subjective instead of objective. That's called pride. It's all about my point of view, not yours or most importantly, truth. Then again, what many call truth is only perceived truth, based on some belief system that is rooted in ...... nothing. Just more shifting sand. No firm foundation.

John stepping off the soapbox to go drink a coffee and wonder what it would be like to be married and chase his wife around the house....hoping she doesn't run fast and enjoys being caught. Tootling along now.......

I Agree 100%. It never fails some dipSH*^ always does it. Just the other night I parked at a Vons market it was somewhat late and the parking lot was almost empty.
I park on an end spot, and keep in mind there was 2 1/2 rows empty where anyone can go.

Anyway as the wife and I walk out only to see some eggbeater piece of SH*^ parked less than 2' away and by the looks of it he had maybe a few inches between his open door and my door.

I started a bit and the wife just says "calm down it's okay"
I told her "no it's not the whole lot is empty and *** breath has to park right here." She just rolled her eyes at me and said "whatever"

I think this is the reason I DON'T let her drive it. The last few times I let her drive my other cars, well lets see..........

She scraped the side of a Vette I had some years back, scraped the side of my Suburban a couple years ago, closed the garage door on the hood of it not too long after, made a hole in the interior putting something in, scraped the front bumper of my Eddie Bauer Expedition 3 months ago.

So on that note, should I let her drive the Vette ???????

I'm sorry Ive put too much time, detail into it for it to get messed up, but I will probably let her drive it with me in the car.

With all due respect...why is it that any car parked next to a C6 is so often referred to as a POS? That car may be every bit as valuable to its owner as your C6 is to you. Certainly its owner has an obligation to exercise care when opening the door (so as not to hit the adjacent parked car) but they certainly have the right to use any available parking space...just as you do. Maybe finding a parking spot where no one can park next to you would be less stressful.

I was expecting a picture of you WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY out in BIIIIIIIIGG parking lot. Sheesh.

In any case, if any of the POS rubbed off on your vette, you can, yes here it comes, BUFF IT OUT with that newly famous F_KK_N wax.

I apologize, I am scheduled for a 'session' tomorrow morning at 7AM

some of you just don't get it - i care for my car more than most, so i don't mind walking a distance to park (do this with my F-150 also) and there are a lot of spots between me and the business door - so why - i wish someone who does this can explain why.

Perhaps even though it may not be the nicest ride, they still care about it. By parking next to a nice car, they figure their POS is less likely to be dinged by someone who cares about his vehicle. I drove older used cars for years, but I still tried to take care of them
