Default Correct way to get in and out of the car?

Please let me know what is the best way to stop the issue reviewed here. My 08 only has 7200 miles and no problem yet. What is the best way to get in and out??

I hate to say it, but...

I've got an '06 coupe with 62,000 miles (daily driver) with no unacceptable wear on the seats. And I don't think I've got a "special" way to get in and out either; I'm careful, but not overly so.

I bought the car "pre-owned" from a local Chevy dealer with 5,000 one-owner miles so the previous owner could have had something done to re-work the guts of the seat before I got the car. From everything I've seen here, though, the contours/shape/material of my side bolsters look the same as everyone elses.

I wonder if there was a design change with Lear mid-year '06 or something?

Anyone know how much an oem seat cover for the back would cost? I just bought an 06 with 16k miles a week ago and the outside of the bolster has quite a bit of wear and a couple of small holes. The dealer is going to have someone fix the holes, but I think it will still look like crap once they are done. I may try to talk them into getting a new cover, just curious what it would cost me if they don't go for it.

Get yourselves a set of Coverking Neoprene seat covers. They look just like the stock covers. You can even get them in two tone. They add padding, prevent wear, and feel great. It's like sitting on a wetsuit. They also prevent sliding around in the seat for the racetrack folks. You can get a big discount on them at Costco online. Order them and they get them to you fast, in about 3 days. I didn't want to wear out my seats in my new Vette like I did in my Camaro. I love them, they feel great, and no more worries.

Any pics of your interior with them? I'd like to see how they compare to the stock look of the interior.

To stop the wear just put some duct tape on the worn spot. If that wears then put another piece on. Duct tape is cheap

The major weakness seems to be in the area of the side bolster and the available padding under the seatcover as it relates to the seat frame. I don't drag across my bolster when I enter the car, didn't on my 1997 C5 either and never had any problems with it as well.
Exactly the same in my 05 and my 97 C5.....Paul - are you copying me, or the other way around??

Excellent advice -- and so practical and thrifty -- perfect for these challenging times. Is duct tape available in neon colors??
