New Firestone Firehawks
Just got my new Firestones today. All I can say is WOW. The car has a whole new feel to it. It rides smoother and seems to have more traction, ( not a great surprise considering the GYs were done at 17000 miles). I got them at a local Firestone dealer. Mounted, balanced, road hazard warrenty, life time balance and wheel alignments every 6000 miles, one free oil change!!! and 10% of future tires and services.... out the door was $1290. Hard to beat that kind of a deal on Vette tires.
Thanks to those who made the recomendation, a few weeks ago. Forum guys rule!!!!

I've had my FireHawks on for 1.5 years and I still agree with your obversations. I'm just glad to hear they're still available as I would like to get another set when it does come time to replace my current ones.
Unlike the GoodYears, Firestone only makes one model of the FireHawks for the Corvette. My guess is that they're closer to the Eagles that come on the base suspension than the ones that are put on the Z51 suspensions. I assume you already know the base and Z51s use the same sizes.

I have had my Firehawks for a month or so now, and am perfectly happy with them. I have not noticed the tremendous differences noted by some others here, but they seem to perform a somewhat better in the rain than the original Goodyears (which is good in central Florida). I like the look of the tread pattern better than the GY Z51 rubber ...
For the price, an excellent buy.

1290 out the door with all the extras sure sounds like a great deal. My independent dealer wants 1300 out the door without an oil change! He also said that NO ONE will put a road hazard warranty on low profile tires, except for the 1st 2/32 of your tire life. I think I'll print out the info from one of the on-line dealers and see what he has to say about it.
I have 15k on my GY's and at least 5K more of safe driving left on them. They are wearing even and still have lots-o-tread. I think they are harsh and noisy so I also want to switch to Firestones, just not yet.
