Interesting: My 2009 Vette came with Navdisk p/n 25852830, version 4.00. My dealership, at the time of sale, stated that all 2009 Vettes come with two free Navdisk updates. Upon registration of my Navsystem on the GM Navdisk website, I found that only 2006/2007 models are entitled to the 2 free updates. Even more disturbing was the fact that the Navdisk representative stated that my car should have been equipped with the updated version p/n 25976806. Neither the Navdisk office nor the dealer desire to make good on this problem. I’ve contacted the Chevrolet Customer Service Desk at 866-790-5700 to see if they could resolve this issue --- still pending. Just info for others anticipating a purchase --- double-check your disk and challenge the dealership if they give you this story about the two free updates. Whether it’s intentional or unintentional, they are giving the customer misinformation and they are responsible for being accurate and honest. Contact the Chevrolet Customer Service Desk at the number cited and let them know you have the same problem, if applicable. Anyone else experiencing this?
That just sucks. It is unfortunate but most dealerships have to lock up the Nav discs when they come in because they mysteriously walk away. The worst part of all is that somewhere along the line there is going to be a new '08 owner who bought from dealer stock and ends up with a 2009 nav disc set. Hopefully someone will try to make it right for you.
If the dealer had been upstanding they would have taken care of you in my opinion. They get a disc for each car so it would have been no big deal to get you the right one. It would be my guess that they sold an '08 and the salesman decided that he could get upgraded.
Another member here and a friend of mine purchased a new '08 from dealer stock and he received a GMC Denali nav disc. The dealership made good on it and simply swapped it for him.
I will have to check my car when I take delivery of it at the Museum to see which disc I get. I would hope that being as the car is preped at the Museum it would have the right disc in it.
My 09 came with the 4.0 disc. I called the GMNAVDISC # and the lady told me to contact my dealer and they would get me a 5.0 under warranty. I did, and my dealer ordered the 5.0 disc for me, under warranty. I haven't recieved it yet, as they are on back order.
Picked up my 09 on Sep 26 at the Museum....came with v4.0. The NavDisks don't claim to be 2008 or 2009 or whatever. There is no direct correlation between software revision numbers and Vette model years that I can find. So I suspect your mileage will vary as to whether or not we'll get a free update to v5.0.
Who would I contact for the new version?...the internet dealership I ordered the car through or the Museum who delivered the car to me?

I would call the Chevrolet Customer Service Desk number that I cited above to ensure that the complaints are recorded properly and so proper pressure can be placed upon GM to do the right thing for their customers. I'll report back as I get feedback from the Customer Service Office. I just got off the phone with them and will give it a few days to see what happens.

What really gets me about this is how can they be on back order. How hard is it to burn DVD's?
