Default Rear hatch pulldown ?????

Does anyone know if the rear hatch pull down from a 2009 coupe can be added to a 2008??? Is there a power harness by the latch???
If so has anyone bought one and do you have a part number??

Thanks

Are you talking about the hatch locking on its own when almost closed?
"Cause my '08 coupe does that already.

I see by your avatar that you have a Z. It can be done and there was a thread on it a couple weeks ago. do a search. It's not as easy as one would think, but can be done.

The automatic pulldown does not work that great. I would not spend any extra money on it.

Have an 09 and it's okay. Takes a while to get used to. No big deal.

Yep, on my 08 you still have to drop the hatch from about a foot high for the hatch to hit the latch hard enought to trigger the pull down.

I still haven't gotten used to it. If you close it too hard, it doesn't engage ... if you close it too softly, it doesn't engage.

There is indeed a "sweet spot" for how hard to close it in order to engage the auto-closing....I can get it about 90% of the time now and I think that it DOES save on hand prints on the car if you can do it...drop the lid by pulling on the latch striker, and...vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvrp, the lid pulls itself down...I like it!

The pull down works well for me. I lower the hatch to its resting point, then just give it a little push.

One of my '07s worked great and the other has been a real pain. I wouldn't pay extra for one.

Default Just a little push

2007 here and I lower it till it hits the latch and a little push does it. Never a problem.

Only time you can't let it drop under it's own weight and engage the auto pull down is when the doors and windows closed. The car is so tight it creates an air lock so you have to give it a little push for the auto pull down to engage. I think it's a great feature on my coupe..........

I had it on my '05 coupe and really missed it on my '06 Z06 - so I added it!!!

Here's the thread about the install:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=2067380

The 2009 Z06 comes with it, but the '06 - '08 Z's do not have it.

yep... with windows and doors closed, you have to lower it down till it touches and push gently with the back of one finger (sometimes use my shirt) and it will pull down and latch. with a window or door open, just let it drop from 3-4 inches and it will click gently and pull down automatically. I do wish however there was a hand groove to pull it down on the 08. For now i'mjust careful with fingerprints, etc (**** like that)
