This morning I got into my C6 and the door lock worked fine (driver). I drove a short distance, got out and the door automatically locked like it should. When I came back to open the door, I squeezed the handle and there was the sound that the car makes when it opens but nothing. I got in by opening from the trunk. From that point on when I push the open button in the car or on the fob you hear it trying to open but nothing. My thinking is to pull the plate out and see if something is slipping. the passenger side and the trunk work just fine. Any thoughts? The plate has two torx screws so it looks pretty easy.
I read your responses and I must say you have gotten a lot more than I have. My Passenger door works but there is no bearing on it working and the driver side. It will not open when I am in the drivers seat and push the door lock button. I can hear the mechanical parts moving but nothing happens that is why I feel that the FOB is okay and the antenna, etc.
I do think it is interesting that we both have a similar problem.
The windows are indexing just fine. That is what makes me think that something got loose. Does anyone have any recommendations about what I will see when I undo the latch. By the way, the manual releases work just fine :-( maybe I should be smiling.
Danl72,
Are you agreeing with me or an earlier response like spin-doktor?
Okay Folks,
I pulled off the face plate to the driver side door lock and there is no access through the door. It seems that the only access is from the inside plastic cover that the speakers are attached to. Is this correct and are
there any directions on how to remove this? My car has 18000 miles is all of this covered under the warranty?
