I am wanting to switch out my stock exhaust for either Borla Black cat or Corsa Extreme.
I like to get that good old muscel car sound like I had on my Chevelle, (the one I should have never sold).
Borla is said to have more of the "muscle car" sound but beware of the infamous "drone". Corsa Sports have almost none, Extreme's have some but Borla's really have it. I suggest for you to go listen to each and then make your decision. Performance wise, any increase in performance will be minimal with any cat back system.

Borla exhausts are more susceptible to producing drone in the C6. An after-market exhaust does wonders to improve the sound quality of the car but the great muscle car sound you seek really comes from the cam...not from an exhaust. Although an exhaust is not a performance mod per se...every horsepower counts! I'd expect a 3-5 hp gain from either a Borla or Corsa exhaust. Look for a local Corvette club or other car gathering where you can listen to some different setups firsthand. See which you like best.
If you are after the American Muscle sound then it will be with the Borla Stingers which give you the deep bass sound, but as was stated Borlas has a drone problem at around 1600-1800 rpms. However as Wayne said the sound you really want comes from having a cam lope into longtube headers into an after market cat back system.

Your profile doesn't say whether you have an auto or manual transmission. The Borlas will have drone. The Corsa exhausts won't have drone except the Corsa Xtremes will produce a minimal amount of drone if you have an auto transmission.
If you want that old time muscle sound, I think the Borlas will be your best choice. I have the Corsa Xtremes with headers and most folks tell me when I'm going through the gears, it sounds like a NASCAR event. The Xtremes have a higher pitch.
I had Corsa's Sports on the 05'; nice tenor, euro supercar sound in 1st to 4th, good muscle car sound at WOT. No drone for the Corsa's unlike the Borla's in my friends' car.

i dunno, Gary....you got them thar Z51 badges on the car....I think it takes some of that American Muscle Car Sound away because the badges absorb it.....
Personally, I prefer a deep rumbling exhaust that sounds like cube & horsepower. Corsas are very nice, but, they are much higher pitched and annoying.....sort of like Hillary's voice IMHO. As for performance advatage..I would suspect Corsa may have a slight edge. As for me, I'll get GHL's.
Drone Drone Drone yeah Borlas have a little at 1500 but if you want a deep bass rumble go with the Borlas You can always turn up the radio then you hear nothing like someone suggested go to a car show and hear the two and than make your decision
You wanted Muscle car sound. Corsa is not even close. Borla Stinger came the closest to the sound of my '67 427
the Borla Stingers with X-pipe have difinitely a deeper muscle car sound compared to the higher pitched Corsa. BTW, the drone IMHO, is not all that bad because the rpm range is so narrow it's relatively is easy to avoid and the drone isn't that bad. There is alot more positives to out weight some drone that you will encounter.
