Very sad to see this thing happen when it could be prevented, let this serve as a reminder to all of us as we enjoy the holidays...use a designated driver and stay safe. My prayers go out to the passenger.
Here's the part of the story that really gets me disgusted:
"Investigators may file criminal charges against a driver who was reportedly speeding and may have been impaired when he clipped the back of a truck and spun out on Interstate 35E.
Witnesses told investigators that the silver Corvette was traveling at a high rate of speed in the southbound lanes when it struck the rear bumper of a bobtail truck."
If true, that's totally inexcusable.
I agree. People should show more maturity if they are going to drive these cars. With great power comes great responsibility. I would never drive intoxicated, let alone in my Vette and speeding. I'm sorry to hear this happened, but mostly, I think it's very stupid this person was behaving like this.
Of course, I'm pretty sure he feels pretty stupid right now too.
Have received news that the passenger died. Also heard the driver was under the influence of "liquids" and "plants" at the time and could face some serious charges and maybe 3 to 7 years in jail.

That is just F#*ked up.
No excuse for that s#*t on a busy interstate.
If you want to kill yourself there are a lot of other ways to do it without endangering the lives of other innocent people.
I feel bad for the passenger, he never had a chance.
I hate to see anyone hurt or die from something that could have been prevented. And while I am sorry for the loss of the passenger and his loved ones, I am curious if he also was under the influence or aware of the drivers impairment. If so, he is just as guilty and stupid as the driver. If he knowingly got in the vehicle with a driver under the influence he is just as guilty. If that isn't the case, then it is a true tragedy for the passenger. Glad the truck driver is okay as well as bystanders.
