I'm confused - are you saying that you have a 2005 coupe with XM but without the XM wart on the hoop? My 2005 coupe is VIN 30693 (built in late June, 2005) and it has the wart.

IMO, the 05's are a great value at this point and again in my somewhat biased view, the changes in subsequent years are either not discernable, not important or not worth the money in my estimation for me to move up at this point. Obviously, others feel differently.

My car was built in September `04 - - an early release- and apart from a couple of relatively minor warranty issues it's been an absolute blast! I did purchase an extended warranty and received complete documentation and history when I got the car in early `06 with 15 klicks on the clock.

In short- I subscribe to the view of buying as new as you can afford, but I sure wouldn't shy away from a well documented 2005 - - it's the best deal in the C6 line in my opinion.

Either way, congrats on your decision to buy a C6, welcome to the forum and be sure and post pictures when you bring her home !

Actually the 2007 did not lose the rear hatch handle until late December of '06. I got one built on 8/22/06 with the handle.

My late model 05 does not have a wart as well.

2007 is a banner year for the Corvette.

The Bugs and Kinks from 05's Generation change and 06's mechanical changes along with this being the 3rd production year of the LS2 in the C6 Generation.

2008 changes powerplant and a host of other refinements which is starting the "bug" process over.

Buy an 07 over an 06/05 if its in the cards.

Otherwise buy the latest year you can afford.
