Actually they changed back with the A6 (available in '06), not the C6. In '05, the C6 MN6 was still more expensive than the C6 A4.
And it's not only the A6, but the paddle shifters as well (they add cost). I bet the G8 GXP tranny is not the Vette's A6, and probably doesn't have paddles either. That's why the manual is more expensive. I could be wrong, but doubt it. Maybe GM does have a clue after all . Take care.
Probably because the Corvette M6 isn't a Tremec TR6060 (except for the ZR1).
Actually, that is wrong. In 2008 the Corvette changed from the Tremec T-56 to the Tremec T6060 as the manual transmission in the M6 Corvette (including the Z06 and ZR1). All 2008, 2009 Corvettes have the T-6060.
I believe the manual costs more in the GXP because in manual form it has more HP. They detuned it for the automatic. I just can't imagine spending almost $40k for a Pontiac that isn't even a "new" design.
