1. You have manual transmission with clutch, right?

Not trying to be a smarta$$. Once, I nearly left my 09 turned off in Drive overnight. Vehicle goes into Accessory Mode if you stop the engine and you're not in Park. That might drain the battery.

2. From the manual: "Cell phone chargers can interfere with the operation of the Keyless Access System. Battery chargers should not be plugged in when starting or turning off the engine."

3. Also from the 09 manual: "If the vehicle has a manual transmission, it is recommended that you move the shift lever to Reverse and set the parking brake after you turn off the engine..."

Here's my .02:

Check the battery cable connections to the battery. Make sure they are clean and tight. If they are, don't screw around. Just replace the battery and you'll be back in business.

Once a battery gets too low, your electronics get really stupid. It's like a Corvette on drugs. No amount of fooling around will fix the problem until your electronics get the correct amount of current from a good battery.

I wouldn't beat yourself up - these cars are a collection of extremely sensitive electronic systems and they can do very strange things. It still sounds like you have a battery issue. You can find the specifics for what battery is required in the specifications section of your manual, which as others have said, should be read - its a good source of information. Even then, these cars can do a lot of wierd things that aren't covered there as well!

Try the jump start per the procedure in the manual and then have the battery and charging system tested and repaired/replaced as needed if that proves to be the issue. There may be some prorated rebate on it but I do not know for sure in your case. Good luck - you'll get it figured out and running like a top soon.

I don't understand why you are concerned about the cost of towing...this is not a cheap car. Why not join AAA, and get the jump starts and towing free. Some good maps too.

Default Car not starting

If you have a cell phone or some other remote in the same pocket as your fob,the car won't start. It happened to me today. I removed the cell phone and it started.

Three or four other options to try first. Why spend ANY money you don't have to?

I'm sorry...but owners who don't read their manuals deserve to be locked in their cars for EVER !!!!!!!
Just incase anyone doesn't know...it's the black book located in the glove compartment, and it also has some pictures in it.

. . . not to mention taking a chance of the tow truck/operator really messing things up!

It's not unusual for a used car to get to the new owner with no owner's manual in the car at all.

Lighten up.

BTW, most manuals are not black.

Read the manual.

You might try getting an inexpensive battery charger at an auto parts store. Mine was doing all the things you stated, no fob, random lights on, radio not working right, doors won't open, etc. We put a full charge on the battery and it hasn't happened since. I actually had to disconnect the battery from the car to charge it, since one headlight kept coming on.
