Had my 2008 Corvette towed into the dealer yesterday wouldnt start
in the garage. Was sitting 3 weeks but battery seemed ok. Tried jump
start but although all the light came on as soon as I pushed start button
just seemed to draw all the juice out and most of time did nothing sometimes got only 1 or 2 clicks out of starter. Lights would come back on after 5 or 10 seconds then when I pushed start again just drew out all the juice and everything went dead. Tow operated tried jumping also with same results. Anyone with any ideas while i wait on the dealer. Thanks
not to put salt on your wounds, but, my vert has been with its battery tender since 11/15/08, i couldn't stand it anymore and had to start it up, so yesterday i got in her and pushed the start button, it started right up like it has so faithfully ever since i purchased her 2 years ago. get yourself a batterytender, and it will save you a lot of stress, honest.......

Isn't it nice to go out to the garage, unfasten the battery tender, and hear her roar to life with the first touch of the start button? I think that C6's should come with a battery charger right from the factory.....
Wow, I didn't realize how susceptible our Corvettes are to battery drainage.
I mean, only 3 weeks?
Is this a very common issue with all generation Corvettes, or is it C6 specific?
Any reason behind this?

as far as im concerned it happens on most all vettes, at least with the ones i have owned. i had a 67, 73, 80 and 89. battery problem with all of them, since i have had my 07, its been on a batterytender, when left alone for 2 weeks or more, and no problems....
They all have had problems from the 05-09, only the 05 was a little more susceptable because of the reverse lock out on the shut down mode. This forum is full of DBS of all C6 this time of year.

I disagree. I've had dead batteries in every car I've ever owned, except the Vette, but that doesn't mean the car was at fault. Most of the problems I read about on CF stem from not driving the vehicle for long periods of time and/or having other gear plugged in that drains the battery. I have the same problem with my Suburban eating batteries because I don't drive it enough. Those who own or have owned boats will know what I'm talking about.
