Default First Wave

I've owned my Vette for about a yaer and a half now and had my first wave on the way to work yesterday afternoon. I passed a blue C5 going the opposite way and the other driver actually waved at me when he saw me! I've waved to a few Vette owners in the pass but I usually get a blank look or nothing. Keep the wave going!

When I first bought my '05 vert, I had no knowledge of "the wave."

Coming slowly towards me down a beach street in another C6 vert were two gorgeous ladies who both casually raised their little finger on one hand and gave me a dainty wave.

Embarrassing as it sounds, I didn't know quite what to do

Yes, the wave is not what it used to be. I recall 15 years ago when the wave was "manditory" if you were passing in a Vette. We all did it and it was a lot of fun...now days it seems to be rare here in Florida.

I always wave.

I practiced what it would look like in front of a mirror.

That way I know I'm looking cool even if noone responds

The corvette wave is an american tradition, but for some its too much work or annoying to raise their arm.

About 90% wave around here. I received my first wave when I test drove one from the dealer with my wife. We didn't know about the "wave." A female driver in a red C6 pulled up beside us at a traffic light and waved at us. Of course I waved back and my wife jokingly hit me because she thought we were flirting....

Wow...a year and a half of driving and no wave until now...that's deplorable. Do your part and keep the tradition going. Don't be discouraged by those that don't respond accordingly...that's their problem. Save the Wave!

I think this is about the 20th. It seems the older you are, the more likely to wave.

Maybe we can get it started again for the new year.
