Default DIC options

I tried setting the options on my 08 and I keep getting a message that says, "options unavailable". The manual says it is related to the key fob, but I am using the one with the #1 on it. It will not respond after waiting a while and trying again. The only thing I can do on the DIC is check mileage and check all of the engine gauges. Don't know what to try next but go to the dealer. I would like to avoid that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, James

Did you buy the car new? Do you have a second fob and will it work? The reason I ask is because it is behaving like a third fob. The car comes from the factory with two fobs. These are the primary and secondary controlling fobs for the car. If a third fob is added it will behave like fob number 1 but it will not have access to the memory features and it will not have access to the options.

OP: Note that it does not matter what fob number is on the back of the fob. It's the fob number assigned to that fob by the fob programming procedure, which may be different than what's on the back of the fob.

I'm having the same problem Bought the C6 used with 2 fobs and they both worked fine until the battery went dead due to a possible related problem.

One fob works fine but the other doesnt. Have tried to reprogram the inop fob with no help. Just keep getting the "option unavailable" dic message. really frustrating. If anyone can help I would really really appreciate it.
