what's up with these people is there a way you can report them by just providing their license plate? there's this kid earlier while i took a drive at the north shore. he was driving a white van and everytime i stop i could see him in my rear view mirror creeping up real close to my c6. he does it eveytime i stopped. there was traffic ahead of us due to an accident and i wanted to exit out of my car and confront him but it could get worse, and cause more traffic. it's a good thing he didn't hit my ride. what a jackass.
there are these toyota suv's and dodge rams also, i see them speeding up on my rear view mirror so fast and when they are almost close to you then they do a sudden lane change really pisses me off!!!

thanks bro..my worry is just accident waiting to happen.
There are no more tailgaters now than there were before you got your Corvettes. It is just that you effectively sit in the back seat in a Corvette compared to the driver's seat of a sedan, so you tend to think people are closer to you than they are.
There are just too many tailgaters , I wonder why cops choose to ignore them.
good point, whats the law? isnt it like 500 feet or something? is it a law or just a rule of thumb i wonder if they can ticket for it? I mean how many times have you drove by an after work 5:15 accident with like 8 cars in it. its alot more dangerous then we think I bet ya.

I know how you feel this has happened to me quite a few times, but as far as getting out and confronting them I've gotton to that point but gave a second thought.
Whose to say next time the S*^t-for brains trys to play tag.... Well you never know.
People need to just keep their distance, there's no reason for them to keep comming up on us.

Allstate promotes the "two second" rule. That would be a following distance of 172 feet at 60 MPH, but few people leave that large a gap. The State of Georgia says 1 car length for every 10 MPH, or roughly 60 feet at 60 MPH. More people follow that rule. But I think the majority of drivers run closer spacing than that. On Atlanta expressways the gap seems to be less than 1 car length at 75 MPH. Wouldn't want someone cutting in front of you, which they surely would if you left them enough room to do so.
Some people tailgate because they know it bothers you while you are in your Vette which they also know they will never own, others are just plain distracted or stupid. Not much you can do about it without making the problem worse.
Being in the "back seat" of the corvette may make it seem they're closer than they really are, but there do seem to be more tailgaters than ever before when I'm in my wife's Pontiac Vibe, which has both front & back seats.
Same reason fewer and fewer drivers use turn signals. Lack of consideration for other drivers on the road.
Tailgating is not only stupid, it's against the law in all 50 states.
Sometimes using your windshield washer to throw water on them will remind them they're too close. Sometimes you just have to use the pedal under your right foot.
From: Retired early, everyday is Saturday...Hocking Hills Ohio
You can report anything in traffic. In Ohio they aggressively pursue tailgaters, alot. I had a idiot one morning within a car length of me for a mile or so on the freeway, the jerk didn't realize the car in the fast lane (in his blind spot) was a state trooper, just about the time I thought nothing was gonna happen, on come the red and blues. I love a happy ending.
had a kid and his friends do this to me for over 2 exits yesterday in there 335i. I literally thought this thing was touching my bumper they were so close apparently they disappear real quick when you hit that skinny pedal to the right of the brake not always the best option as i prefer to just to move over and let someone else get rear-ended. Shall try the windshield washer fluid method next time.
What really pisses me off is if you try to get away from them they go faster or if you pull to another lane the still just seem to linger. Then if you slow down som other A$$Wh%^e gets in behind you. What ever happen to the old saying "Drive Defensively, Watch out for the other guy"
