I had to change out the battery because it died. After I installed the new battery my windows no longer went down an inch or so when I opened the door. It used to go down a tad when I opened the door and when I closed the door it would go back up. Any idea how to reset??????
Raise the window and hold the up switch an extra 3 seconds. Release. Without lowering the window, hold the up switch again for 3 seconds. Release. Done.
This is called resetting of the window indexing or power window initialize and is in the owner's manual. See page 2-17 of the 2005 owner’s manual, page 2-18 of the 2006 owner’s manual, page 87 of the 2007 owner’s manual, page 2-18 of the 2008 owner’s manual.
Sit in the car and start the car. Run each window down and then all the way up and hold the button for 3 seconds then release. Then hold the button in the closed position another 3 seconds and release. Do the other side the same. That will reset the window system and they will index again.
