Default cf engine cover

Just got an cf engine cover from wcc.The cover comes with 4 brackets to install there are 2 short ones and 2 long ones. Has anyone installed this cover? If so, what are the placement of the brackets?

Can you post a picture? The covers should be the same as your originals. If so, the left (when looking from the front) just snaps down in place (remove oil filler cap first). The right cover has to be fitted around the fuel line then snapped down in place.

The cover is actually a one piece engine cover. Not the two piece fuel well covers. Sorry for the confusion. You start by installing the 4 brackets on the studs by the fuel rails. Then it is screwed down to the brackets. The problem is that the brackets are two different sizes. One is short and one is long. And I'm trying to figure out where the brackets should be on the studs. These are not ones that snap on like the two piece does. I apprecite all your help though. This is driving me nuts.

WCC typically has excellent instructions and photos on their website.... is this the part you're trying to install?

Look on their website at the install directions. The longer brackets go on the front mounts and short on the back and sit kind of diagonal. Hope this helps.

I've got that cover and can tell you it's a b$tch to align the brackets. It helps to have two people (one per side). The best bet is to measure the cover holes and then set brackets as close to the measurements as possible. I use a long scratch awl to reach through the cover holes into the brackets for perfect alignment. You may have to bend the brackets. Carefully remove the cover the final time to tighten brackets. You will repeatedly set and remove the cover until you finally get it right. Good luck.
