I got hit on the right side of the hood by what must have been a pretty good size rock. I heard it hit the car when I was driving along I-10 in Florida a few weeks ago. I got some touch up paint from the dealer and fortunately black is pretty easy to match. I ordered the Langka kit and then I was ready to make the attempt.

First pic is of the original chip which goes all the way to the SMC.

The edges were raised a bit so I had to trim them up a bit with the tip of an X-acto knife. This made it about 1/8" x 3/16".

Here is the final result.

Keep in mind that this is a huge chip. It probably should have required a trip to the body shop. I figured I had nothing to lose in trying to fix it. From any reasonable distance you won't notice it.

It took about 8 or 10 applications of paint to get it level enough. And the final step after using Langka was kind of dull compared to the surrounding area. A bit of Meguiar's Scratch-X fixed that.

GM sells a good touch up paint for our color, matches very well. Order it through the parts counter.
