Just different ways of measuring, different names and numbers for measuring how the wheel fits the fender/wheelwell.
Back spacing is an older, cruder way, just a measurement from the back face of the wheel to the outside edge of the wheel. Just take a ruler or tape and measure it.
Offset is calculated using the centerline of the wheel and measuring the distance between the centerline and the back face of the wheel.
