103 in a 55.
1978 LTD with a 351 Cleveland.
Total fine including court costs......$122.
How things have changed.
Of course, I wouldn't drive my Vette that fast on the road.
Okay, I'll fess...............125mph in a 55mph zone.
And....... I didn't get a ticket!
On a motorcycle, on a Sunday morning, on a completely empty Long Beach Freeway in LA (when the national speed limit was 55).
The Highway Patrol LEO didn't even get out of his car. After pulling me over he motioned for me to come to his passenger window.
He asked me how long I had been riding motorcycles. I told him. He ask me how I had managed not to kill myself yet (rhetorical question). I gave some excuse like it was perfect weather, and not a car in sight, a completely open 4 lane freeway, I just couldn't resist the open road. He shook his head and told me to get out of here.
I did!!!!

104 mph in a 35 zone.....65 Olds 442 Beat it on a technicality. It took place on an abandoned airport runway....Hempstead LI, NY There were NO speed limit signs on the Runway....CASE DISMISSED.... This took place in 1965
Just taking a Poll. I got nailed for 89 in a 55... I think it was the Yellow color, LOL... Anyone ever get worse then that? What was the plea bargin?
Labor Day 2007. I hate to admit it, but had the vette about 3 months (upgraded from a Ford Ranger) and kept my right foot on the floor a tad bit too long. Only vehicle on the toll road just after dark...
112 mph in a 65. CHP was (surprisingly) mellow about the whole thing. My "mandatory court apperance" was not so nice. I didn't try to contest it and plead guilty. The fine was about $250-300 if I remember right, wasn't so bad (considering) but the judge suspending my license for "exceeding 100mph" for 30 days definitely sucked. To those that live in CA, the judge was nice enough to remind me that in the state of CA, exceeding 100 mph can result in loss of your license for an entire year! And it was 2 points on my record. Hello, f'ed up insurance for 3 years. I hadn't had a ticket since 1998. Which happened to be for 90 mph in a 55.
98 in a 65 driving near Pinedale, Wyoming. $130 on the spot. He said,"you slow down really fast". Considering I was traveling much faster I'd say he was right! Lucky too. I slowed it down after that and enjoyed a beautiful drive." LIFE IS SHORT, drive a corvette"
In my 911 nailed by instant radar doing 85 in a 55 with my foot firmly on the brake. I paid an attorney $200, went to driver ed., paid a $100 fine, the ticket was put in a drawer and held for 2 years pending no more tickets. Can't do that anymore around here.
