OnStar Solicitation
My Verizon phone has GPS (location) turned off by default when purchased new. If I wanted it on he manual says I have to go menu - settings - system - location and then select on. Anyone can call me on my cell phone but unless I answer they can't hear me.
A problem with onstar is I can't turn off location. A problem with onstar is they can call the car in such a way the car will answer and they can listen - all without my knowing. Without my knowing - without my permission - I find that troubling. They can track where I park, where I drive, how fast I drive, my conversation, etc all without my knowledge. I find that disturbing.
I work for a company that is the leader in this technology. We do just that sort of tracking of your children, your pets, your teenagers car. We place cameras in cars and track the whole thing with the owners knowledge. One company that has commercialized some of this is onstar, another can be found at www.drivecam.com. Check out the videos at Drive Cams website. These devices work both ways, document when you go wrong and document when the other driver has gone wrong. Check out the videos, listen to some of the comments, great entertainment but not in my car, please.
Onstar is out of my car...
Read the novel 1984. RE: "telescreens" in your bedroom and everywhere else.
Note to guy with tinfoil hat photo:
Post photo NOW.

BTW - this thread is not for political jabs about the prior administration. There is another section of the forum for that. There is plenty I would like to say but it is not meant for this part of the forum.
They actually had the nerve to make it a $695 option that year which included a year of service. I think they quickly saw that not enough people chose the option so they went back to building it in to the price of the car. They probably figured that once it's installed in the car they would have a better chance of hooking you.
