Someone justifying the spending of 20k more they should might type a quote like this..

I won't bash the Z06 as it is a great car on its own.

Convertibles occupy a tradition in car history. Including such greats as the early Camaro Pacecar Convertibles.

They also retain the most resale value at auctions such as Barret Jackson.

Your link sounds as if you have an insecurity problem. Worrying about what people might do at the traffic light for example.

I for one enjoy all aspects of a V8 Engine / Convertible Combination.

Living in FL helps alot to keep usage high.

Simply dismissing the convertible with the comment of "Dont Miss convertibles not even a little bit" is more of a justification of your overpriced choice and I would hope you might reconsider that position.

Good Luck with the continued put down's of LS2s, Convertibles, BASE Corvettes, and Those with Mechanical knowledge to upgrade there Engine.

I sold my 07 widebody coupe for a 09 Z. Best move I ever made, I couldn't be more satisfied with a car than my Z.

I would certainly like a Z but I can't imagine, at this time, giving up my vert. Good luck.

I know.....I will be opening up a can of worms, but lets hear your thoughts.
Suggest you get rid of the 04Z for the new Z.

No sense having the 04 sit while you drive the new one.

Default Are you crazy?

I'd say yes. You just bought a 2008 Vette, keep it, enjoy it, and find something constructive to do.

I would never have known this had you not said it.

I'm sure that he will keep that in mind as he prepares to have his car sold at the Barrret Jackson auction. Maybe Leno will buy it.

Thank you Dr. Phil for that in depth analysis. But I think its just my not missing convertibles and the down side of owning them.

He doesn't live in Florida.

"Overpriced" according to whom?

No one is "putting down" anything. But if you took it that way, then thats a problem on your end, not mine.

Also, I think you mean "their" engines.

But the guy is asking a question as to if he should upgrade to a C6 Z06. I see you posting in this thread, and giving "advice", but from what experience with the beast which is the C6 Z06, are you speaking from?

have you found out what (per mpuzach) your '08 is worth? or does that not matter? if so, do what you like because you can always reverse it back, at some cost.

if cost(s) matter, then you have a bigger issue of likes/dislike that we can't really solve, can we? I mean, how can we tell you that horsepower matters more than an open sky feeling?

Thanks for ALL the advice. All of you have valid points.

I have always had verts. and I agree I will miss it. Like some of you said, maybe just add some more power to the one that I have now and save the 20 grand. As for the Z16 I really like the car and would like to have a Vette of each generation eventually.

Thanks again, and sorry for the horrible thread.

You will lose your shirt! Just mod your vert with the money you would lose and you could have the best of both worlds! This is another case of GM missing the boat by not making a Z06 convertible!
