Default Which Brake fluid?

Hi Guys & Gals,
Which brake fluid are you using for the 07, C6 w/ /Z51 package.? I went to the dealer & the guy doesn't know which brake fluid. I have use dot 4 for the last 2 years. It seems like I have to fill my brake fluid every 6 months (1/2 to 3/4 quart). Is this normal? Thank you for all of your advice.

Dot 4 is fine, but I don't think you should have to add any fluid. I have never had to add any and I have an 05 with 25000 mi on it.

Per my '08 owners manual, Delco Supreme 11 Brake Fluid or equivalent DOT-3 brake fluid.

You will have to add as the pads wear and the piston extend out drawing more fluid out of resevoir, The same as when you put new pads in and when forcing back pistons the fluid level will rise in the resevoir! That is why its a good reason to bleed out brakes when changing pads. Dot 4 is good but i use dot 5.1 [not dot 5 that is synthetic]

I just flushed mine again and put some new pads since I track my car, I use Brembo DOT 4 and it works awesome.

1/2 to 3/4 of a quart every 6 months...something is leaking. Use any good Dot 4. The brand won't make any difference in how much you are losing.

I use Motul 600 (Dot 4). If it exceeds on the track then you know it will work well in 'normal' street use.

WalMart and its about $3.00 for 12 oz. Black bottle, vs yellow bottle for the DOT 3.

If you are putting that much in, you got a leak someplace. I'd get that checked faster than ASAP.

Worry about the brand after you find where the fluid is going!

I use MOTUL RBF600 (DOT 4) in both the Brakes and Clutch.

Anyone know where you can buy Motul or Wilwood brake fluid locally?
