Default two colors of Corvettes for sebring race

Anyone else see photos of practice sessions for the Sebring race? The #3 car is yellow as usual but the #4 car is black. Not two-toned graphics like the 'Jake' cars, but solid yellow and black cars. This makes the black GT-1 'replicars' that will be produced more legitimate as there will actually be a black C6 race car. see pictures on motorsport.com

Thanks for the heads up on this. I've parsed a couple of pix...

Here is one of the '09 GT1 Vettes running at Sebring from the Motorsport.com article:

Here's a pic of the black #4 C6.R:

I heard it got wacked by an Acura LMP today that resulted in a punctured rear tire and slight fender damage. Hopefully nothing serious.

Great looking cars.

Anyone know of anyone who sells C6R front fenders?

I saw them at Ecklers but I can't vouch for the quality.

Dude...don’t get me started...I e-mailed Dave Despain of Wind Tunnel to let him know that we need more coverage of ALMS on SPEED, well before the season starts and in general. As if it’s not enough that we have to sit through months of NASCAR, which is the racing equivalent of the WWF, and they get their own shows anyway..The week in NASCAR, breakfast with NASCAR, Dinner with NASCAR, Golf with NASCAR eeeesh..and to make matters worse F1 and even the IRL get more off season media time than ALMS…I need an ALMS channel….De-am..

I like all forms of racing including the team spirit, heavy sponsorship and awareness that NASCAR brings to the sport but I have to say that having them off of SPEED for the day will be refreshing..

Motor on and sorry for the rant just had to get it out…

I love ALMS and watch every race - but you don't need to rag on NASCAR... Just sayin'

Not from what I just saw...both the yellow and black C6.R's had large graphics on the hood, roof and rear deck (appeared to be jake from what I saw). The back end of the yellow C6.R was black. These were not solid colored cars.

That said, I'd take either one...nice cars! I'm looking forward to the race. Go Corvette!

Yes, I should not rag on NASCAR. As I pointed out, they do many good things for the sport and are excellent ambassadors for racing….. just feeling a bit saturated and over exposed relative to coverage and need a dose of ALMS. This Saturday will be a good start…like I said, just had to get it out…

racing is racing.... I don't care if it's Golf Carts, Lawn Mowers or LMP cars or thr root of motor sports in America.
