The plan for Corvette Racing will have the team running the GT1 car through the 5th race of the season at Lime Rock. Then at the August 6th - 8th event at Mid-Ohio, they'll start competing with their new GT2 car.

I saw a Speed TV broadcast from Sebring this afternoon that interviewed Johnny O'Connell and the team manager and both were excited about the new GT2 program; the "new" Corvette race car will have to be more like the production version that we all know and love so that should make things even more interesting (Wonder if their roof squeaks? )
That's the news for the factory team; LG Motorsports is fielding a fresh out of the box GT2 Corvette at Sebring and they qualified 10th in class.

Thanks for the info and web sites. I'm getting a new interest in ALMS and think Corvette going to GT2 will be much more challenging and fun to watch. I'm a NASCAR fan but ALMS is closer to 'stock' cars now than the cracker boxes NASCAR is running these days.

NASCAR is totally out of touch with real cars now.
Should be an awesome season for Corvette fans everywhere

in the GT1 class where the 3 vette races the 4 vette, and you know they will finish #1 and #2 before the race even starts, is boring...and I am a fan of ALMS
