I just got a call on my office phone and my oldest son says look out your window and watch this burnout. Curious I look out and AAUGHH!!!, he's in my Corvette with my yellow Corvette hat on and the top off.
Seems he was dropping off my grand kids at my house for the weekend, and talked his mother into letting him pull a trick on old dad, borrow the Vette for a couple of minutes to make a pass by my office window.
At 40 he's still a gear head also. It must be hard on him to know I have the fastest car and suv in the family, while he's stuck in a Suburban and Silverado. With 3 kids ages 3 thru 8 he will likely be in a Surban for a long time.

Wow. You had me worried. I've got a yellow vette with a yellow vette hat and a 34 yr old son who is going to drop my grandchildren off the the weekend and that sounds just like something my wife and him would do. I had to get up from my desk and look outside. I'm relieved it's still there.

I get the same jokes, but it is my father who takes my car and does burn outs in front of me. I can't say to much, as I have really enjoyed myself in all of his vettes over the years. So he is paying me back.

Very cool.. Hopefully he knows enough to let it warm up properly first.
I toss my son the keys to the vette every now and then... He's got an M3 and I need to make sure he knows dads car can still whoop him.

I'm 40 also!
Well, 42, close enough.
My dad has an XLR-V and my sister has a Z06. Before my Vette, I had an H2 Hummer (0-60 32 minutes). Had to sell the H2, and pimp my Vette just to keep up.
had the same issue with the oldest of 2 sons but solved the problem. vette stays at home where it belongs and we're going to miss not having one of the kids around for holiday dinners

Actually it's not a problem, I enjoyed the trick.
He makes sure I take real good care of it just in case he inherits it. He has his younger brother to deal with on that. One gets a TBSS the other gets the Vette, how will they decide?
