With 49 minutes left Jake is running 1, 2 in GT 1.
Only problem is they are the only GT 1's, Sebring is not very exciting these days. Must be the economy.

I agree more competition will be better. I only saw portions of the race but I noticed what I thought was an Aston Martin parked along the side of the track (broken). AM has been a very worthy competitor to Corvette in the past but I just checked and saw the AM was in GT2. I'm looking forward to Corvette changing to GT2.
Hi,
I was camped at Sebring on turn 2-3, it did my heart good to see the Vette with one green light chse down and pass a Porsche in the corner. While those two Vettes were only running against each other as a tune up and test run, they did well and hammered out every inch they could take wit real power and sharp crisp drivers. The Vettes conducted themselves with aggressiveness and plain guts along with real power...this time.... . Corvette did well and should be proud of that run.
yea I thought Corvette and Aston were mortal combatants only to see they were in different classes?? didn't know that changed, here's a pic from yesterday at a slow turn 3 I think?

The factory team has been in GT1 since they changed it from GTS. There are privateer C6s in GT2 (LG is one).
They'll run the ALMS race in Long Beach and LeMans in GT1 and then move to GT2 after that.
It'll be interesting to see how they do against the Ferraris, Porsches and Bimmers.
Once the C6 goes to GT2 and dominates that class, I'll be we'll see a GT3 soon.

A GT3 class only after they make it nearly impossible for the VETTES to win with all kinds of handicaps, so the others can try to compete! Head to head racing the euros can't compete with our beloved machine!!
GT1 is rediculous - no competition for how many years now? And our own Lou Gigliotti was the only Corvette entry in a field of 12 GT2 cars. With Porsche pulling the plug, the ALMS has gotten to be a farse which is sad because of the huge amount of money it takes for these teams to compete.

I was down for the 24 of Daytona and watched the GT3 class 2 Vettes, that were non-competitive. At least one made it to the end and scored well. It would be great to see GT2/3 become a place for Vettes. I think with the move of Chevy R&D to GT2 we will find that more people will go into the GT3 class and use some of the R&D from the GT2 class to make their cars competative. It would be great to have a diverse competative race class in the USA.
