I used a decal remover product I got at Autozone. Spray liberaly, wait about 5 minutes and they just literally fall off. A little more spray gets any residue off.
If someone knows enough to know that the 05 didn't have the Chiclets, they will notice my 08 wheels, steering wheel, carbon fiber center console, LS3 engine and my license plate which says 430HSPR. My car has been moded and it above 430 HSPR but it doesn't bother me what anyone thinks. I took mine off because I think the car looks better without them. I'm just answering your question and not trying to be an @$$hole.
Before I got my 09, I read several posts on removing chicklets. Easy, right? Here's what happened to me:
Attempt #1: Tried dental floss, the floss broke, the chicklet didn't loosen or budge at all.
Attempt #2: I carefully tried to lift the chicklet off with my finger. Bent a fingernail backwards.
Attempt #3: A bit pi$$ed after #2, I considered using a hair dryer to soften the glue, my weed-wacker plastic line to lift-off the chicklet, maybe even a spackle knife or screwdriver...
...been down this road before. (You should see what I did to the lid on my Zaino bucket.) No need to risk damage to my brand-new C6.
My chicklets remain installed just the way they left the factory.
Anyone think maybe GM switched to a stronger glue?[/QUOTE]
No - I'm thinking you maybe just aren't the mechanical type.

Yikes! That guy who owns the car in the photo needs to learn how to wash his car, the steel wool thing is not working out. Or that was one big failed attempt at removing them.
1) Drive to Texas where its almost a 100 freakin degrees (heated chicklets taken care of)
2) Take some fishing line and run it behind the chicklet & pull down
3) clean off goo with WD-40 or GooGone
4) Drive Home to NY
5) wash car where the chicklets were & all the bugs you just put on the car
