I have been trying to find a good black dash cover for my new 2009 LT1. It seems like the auto Parts dealers and the Chevy dealers don't carry them.
In Arizona the sun just beats down in the summer and destroys everything.
Personally, I would never use a dash mat. I would suggest using a window shade screen (whenever you park the car in the sun) and use 303 Aerospace Protectant on your dash...it has UV filtering properties.

I had a Dash Mat in my 350Z and it looked cheesy. Friends made fun. I had to get rid of it.
I was under the impression that the materials used in dashes today do not warp or discolor like those in the past. If anyone has evidence that our new dashes still do need protecting please post your experience. Personally, my '05 dash has never been covered and does not show any ill effect.

I have yet to see the "split" dash like in the old days. Come to think of it, I've never even seen one faded.

I have one to eliminate the sun reflection showing up on the windshield. Polarized sunglasses only reduce glare. To me it's a vision issue, not a protection concern.
