Default problems with 2009 models

I have read that their has been a defected part in the motor of the 2009 c6 and has it been fixed. Do the dealers sell the 2009 models with it fixed or is it a recall situation.

Can you be more specific? Are you referring to the 'in stock" engine recalls?

I've got a 2009 that I bought last August. No recall on my engine. The thread a while back on engine issues appeared to be limited to a small number of cars.

They do have an issue with the rear quarter panel falling off occasionally. Other than that, they're sound!

All the engine recalls were for "In Stock" units and are or will be repaired prior to sale. So far we haven't heard of any cars recalled that are already in owner's possession.

Maybe this is what you're looking for. It has to do with approximately 53 2009 C6 engines using too much oil.

Other than those in stock vehicles mentioned, (which has seemed to died out in the forum) the vehicle is very sound, they have had a lot of time to "make it right " since 05.

There is a recall for a defective Onstar module. The dealer I bought mine from did not apparently know that. Local dealer in town knew within 10 seconds of getting my VIN though, go figure.
