Has anyone attempted to clean the inside of these headlights? Mine have a haze inside I would like to get rid of. The haze is definately on the inside and doesn't go away even after driving for an hour or so. The haze closest to the headlight is even brownish in color. I uploaded headlight pictures into "My Corvette Photos" so click on MCP on the left. I guess they have to go through editing first. Note: The haze is only visable when the lights are turned on.

Reason: addition
Unfortunately, the headlights are a sealed unit (they are vented for air exchange) and you can't get at the inside to clean them. There is really no way to open them and even removing the bulbs will only get you access to the back of the lens.
Turn your lights on and the heat may remove the haze that you are seeing. I was told that the haze is actually moisture and when the lights heat up the haze goes away.
Are you positive the haze is on the inside? Sometimes a haze can develop on the outside that can only be removed with a plexiglas cleaner/polisher and buffer. There are some threads on this in the car care section.
you can open the headlights by baking them in the oven for 6 minutes than reseal them by using the same method

I don't think he is kidding. IIRC there was a post on here maybe a year or so ago where someone opened up the assembly to paint (or was it powdercoat) the inside to match the vehicle color and then sealed it up again. Must still be around here in CF cyberspace somewhere.

Have you ever tried this...more specifically, have you ever tried this with Corvette headlights? The epoxy used is not the same as the imports and is not prone to softening with this method. The only proven way to do this is by cutting the seal with a dremel or similar cutting tool and then finding some way to glue them back together.

I know he's not kidding about opening them. It's the 6 minute thing and resealing them in the same fashion that I'd like to see. I open up a lot of them in a different manner so anything easier would be welcome.
Check my threads on lenses for sale. I successfully remove about 8 out of 10 lens now. The others are melted beyond recognition.
[/B]My car is under GM's extended warrenty so I took it to my local dealer to see about the headlights and they said it is not a warrenty item unless they are cracking. I am going to clean them myself after I get a few more tips. Thanks guys!
