I have an 08 vert. Several times after I turn off the car and don't get out for a while I have to pull the door release on the floor to exit. It happens infrequently, is there something I did or should have done to not have to go through this exercise?

The top was up, didn't try to unlock the door, just pushed the button. I guess the question is, is there a time limit after which you have to unlock the door before trying to get out after stopping the car? It's not a big deal, just wonderiing what the ground rules are......

If you have autolocking set, the doors normally lock 8 seconds after you shut the door, but I don't know how that timing interval works if you never get out of the car.
My suggestion would be to just leave autolocking turned off if you're going to do that very often.

this procedure worked my issues with same problem. also make sure you have the e-brake on or else seat memory, etc. won't work as well.
I've never had that happen. I've sat and waited in the car several times, and never noticed having any problem opening a door. I thought the fob would still be sensed as soon as you go to hit a button (starter, door open)???
Maybe I didn't end up getting out of the car, so I just didn't notice the same issue, but it sounds like a problem, and not SOP.

But only after the door is opened and closed and the car detects that at least on fob has left the car. Open and close the door still sitting in the car and (if you have this feature set) you will get three horn chirps.
Door should open when you press the button just like if you pressed the pad from the outside. Have you tried pressing the unlock on the fob then the door button? Should not have to do that, just wondering if you had.
