Every time I'm out in my Vette, everyone wants to race and play the music louder...even if the car is a POS!!! Today I was driving in some medium traffic and saw a guy in a stratus wanting to race. I just looked at him and started laughing! So, does any other Vette Drivers experiance this?
Yeah it happens everywhere. I had a 1990s bmw 5 series and a chevy avalanche (within 5 minutes of each other...) try and race me. They were revving and playing loud music & looking over every time we came to a stop light.
Happens all the time to me as well. Just yesterday I got my doors blown off by a pontiac solstice gxp and a 90s V6 mustang. It kinda bothered me at first, but Ive gotten used to it. (After just 2 months) I just try and show the same style and class that my car does and ignore their childish antics.
It's reasons like that, that no matter how much hp the camaro/challenger/mustang has, the corvette & corvette owners are a totally different class. If you're gonna race, do it at the drag strip or the track. Too many people buy the aforementioned (and ****, other cars too) and then act like a badass on the road. The hp doesn't mean anything, it won't stop you from getting a ticket or your car impounded.
yea i get this all the time as well. I do believe all these people want is a free show. I don't know if it's just me, but do you guys notice when you pass someone on the expressway they usually get behind you and tail you??

It happens to me too. Sometimes I get angry and want to show them what a Corvette can do, but then I think of the consequences of a possible accident with injuries and my better judjment prevails.

As my wife reminds me....."you're driving a Vette. You don't have to prove a thing".

Mustangs are the worst...haha like a stock mustang could ever beat a stock vette!
actually that rarely happens to me. If anything i just get that look of respect from them and they mind their business. Its kind of a shame, i dont get to play around much anymore these days... at least in the old mustang people would play.
I have an '08 VY Z06 and I get it all from idiots wanting to race (haven't taken the bait yet) to thumbs up and energetic waves of approval. It does attract attention.
My dad was being tailed by a Ferrari 360 spyder and so they decided to do a little run and the vette won. This was on a deserted little road with no traffic so it was safe. The Ferrari driver waved and took off after the race and we saw him again a few weeks later. However, we're not usually involved in racing, because theres no point in taking the chance of getting the vette impounded.

Yup, and like cclive said, lately the pickups seem to be the worse followed by anything with a tail pipe the size of a 5 gallon bucket bouncing up and down under the rear bumper.
It is difficult to refrain, but sometimes they really do need to get their *** handed to them (not by me of course).
