Yellow??

Great looking car
It was not 'canary yellow' at all.
It was more of a gold color. I never understood where they got the yellow description.
The pictures of the car shown in the other message does really not look like the correct color very much. Either these pictures are 'off', or this car is not painted the stock color.
I have no digital pictures of my car. What I have are in some box of photo albums buried who knows where in my house, so, sorry, I can't help with pictures of mine.
Ah, google is your friend. I found a link right here in our forum.

This car probably has the correct color, at least the second picture is close to 'real life' color. Although the first picture is also what the car looks like in bright light. The first picture might be what the car looked like after a modern repaint, and the second picture was a picture of the original car. Note the steel wheels (original, when chrome trim rings and center caps added) and non-stock mag wheels on the first picture. Or, the steel wheels could have been covered with a turbine look full wheel cover, which is what my car had. These covers weighted a ton, and probably keep my wheels out of balance all the time.
The pics and links folks have posted are not what I remembered.
A friend had a C-2 that was supposedly "war bonnet" and it was a bright, in your face, yellow. Not a tint of any other color. IIrc it was yellow with a black stinger.
Thinking about it. A lot of folks painted their 55-57 Chevy's that color It was a outrageously bright color.
Could be "war bonnet" is the wrong name for the color.
Gonna take some more looking around I guess.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Warbonnet Yellow (3706 made) and Sunflower Yellow (1177 made)
In 1972 the same two colors existed:
WB Yellow (2550 made) and SF Yellow (1543 made)
1971 and 1972 were the only 2 years that had Warbonnet Yellow.
