I'd like to put a clear edge guard on my doors before I chip the paint and I can't seem to find anything made specifically for my 08. Does anyone know where I can find what I'm looking for?
I haven't seen this product myself, but I think I might try the 3M paint protection film. I think it's the stuff that is used to make a clear bra. They make a film just for the door edge, and I was wondering if anyone has tried it and whether it yellows or has some other negative attribute I should know about.
Other factors such as a high wind can be involved also.
Note to self: Hold onto door when opening, it's very windy.
If concern is hitting garage wall when opening the doors, a computer mouse pad mounted to the wall with the bottom of the pad facing outward works well.

Come on out to the windy city and keep that note handy.

Or maybe there's a better way?
Thanks in advance!
Anyone that does clear bras will have it.
I have it on all my cars.
You can hardly see it, and it works great.
I think he is saying it can happen. We can all sit here and lie to ourselves and others. My Vette is a garage queen, no rain, no snow, park a mile away from other cars. I'm lucky and not a scratch on her. But, I'm honest enough to say things can happen even if your careful.
Like I stated earlier with respect to wind. Rainy day the car just waxed and slippery. You open the door to get gas and the wind forces it into the gas pump. You just never know. To many variables out there to say it won't happen to me.
No it doesnt, park in the boonies and get a little exercise.
That is what I do. Actually I have always done that anyway. I don't like parking next to people because most don't have respect for other peoples property. And it does not matter what car you have.
I consider myself pretty klutzy, but I've put over 100k miles on a C5 and C6, never chipped a door edge. If I did, a little touchup paint should take care of it.
Your car, your money, your choice.
