powder coating c6 wheels?
Has anyone powder coated OEM (painted) C6 wheels? I bought a set and would like to powder coat black. Any idea where I can get a new centercap emblem or black center caps with the emblem. Thanks for the help.

I think you can get the emblems on ebay. Ask PowerLabs.

If the chrome is high quality, it can be roughed up and coated over. If its of poor quality, it may flake off when heated in the oven. Its a chance one would have to take. I imagine factory chrome would be no problem, and I would coat that with just a scuff, but I wouldn't coat chrome repros.

Some of Mike's work on my car. I put the emblems (GM Official Licenced C6 Emblems from Ebay) and the stripe (vinyl) myself of course:
The brakes were his work too, almost 2 years ago

it can still chip, but its less susceptible to chipping than painted wheels. I have no nicks on my powdercoated track wheels and they see a lot of abuse, plus I did no more prep than wiping them down and powdercoating over the factory paint, just to see how durable they would be.

Yes, have powder coated a couple of OEM sets. You can get black center caps from eBay and other sources too
Just make sure that you really want your OEM wheels, because you'll never get that investment back if you try to sell. I, for example, ended up wanting a wider wheel and had to sell my two OEM sets and recovered maybe half of what I had in the wheels. So it may be better to just buy a new set that is the width you want and already black
