Default Navigation Question

I just got the latest nav Disc. What's ironic is that after waiting 4 months to get it, it doesn't have my home address i(street) in it...And no, I don't leave out in no where.

Anyway, on to my question - while I was playing around with the nav controls, I pushed calibration - location. I know that tells the nav system where it is, but I know I hit calibration int he wrong location - if that makes sense. Bottom line is, how do I reset the location so that it just checks the gps and has me there?

If I remove the nav disc and then re-insert it, willt hat do it?

On a lighter note, I have Nav Disc 3.0 that is available for $5.00 shipped priority.
Cheers,
Ray

You can't really hit calibration in a "wrong location". Calibration allows you to sync the GPS/Nav to your current physical location and orientation as these can become skewed for various reasons according to the manual.

If the car is sitting on a known location and the GPS does not agree with either the location or orientation (compass bearing), you can adjust both those values.

No, I don't believe taking the DVD out will reset that, but all you have to do is another cal.

Exactly, just calibrate again...in a known correct location

If you accepted PMs you'd have one with the information you're looking for.

FYI for everyone, a few weeks ago, mine went nuts all of a sudden, thinking I was about 70 miles away from where I really was. Seconds before it was fine. I had to do the calibrate to get it back to where I really was. Still no clue what happened. Not trying to steal the thread but thinking it might be related in some strange way.

Thanks guys. I went out and calibrated it and it seems to be working just great now. I still have the V3 disk for anyone that wants it.

An article in the journals.cambridge.org says that spurious errors can occur for various reasons. Sounds like you found one
