Sorry, I don't think I've ever seen that problem mentioned in any threads here. You might check the C6 FAQ sticky, but I doubt if it's in there either. I did look in the 08 owner's manual in the section where the climate controls are mentioned, but didn't see it.

Thanks, I checked the owners manual as well and found nothing.
Just put the car in the garage and the flashing has stopped. Just a gremlin I guess.:o
Much as I hate to say it, if it continues, I'd take it to the dealer. In itself, it's no big deal, but it's indicative of a problem that might be serious.
I have this on my 2005 coupe. I asked the same question and was told that the A/C control unit was about to die by one of the members here. Mine is very intermittent. If you discover the problem could you PM me?
mine just did it today on a 2008 coupe. I restarted it (held the button for 10 seconds) a few times to try and make it go back to normal, and it didn't, so I drove it to the dealer.... and what do you know - when the dealer went to start it to diagnose the problem, it went away!
I've made a few trips today with a shutdown in between, and now it's normal. Hmm...
They are going to call the GM tech line on Monday and let me know if they hear anything. In the meantime, are there any TSBs for this that I can reference?
Hmm - still no luck. It's almost as if the car is trying to tell you it's hot outside, as it only does it when it's 90+ degree weather. It did it again today, but then went away after letting the car sit for an hour or two.
Maybe it's just saying that it might not be able to cool efficiently at that temp?
has anyone resolved this problem? my dealer won't replace the display unless it is actually doing it at the moment I have it there. This is proving to be harder than it sounds, as it is very intermittent.

I don't think so. I am in Arizona and although it has been a mild summer so far it has been well into the 90's for about a month with the occasional 100+ day in there (will get hotter soon) and I have not seen this.
Plus my car thinks it is hotter outside than it really is because it sits in the parking lot outside the office all day. Mine is an 09 btw.
There's a reset for the hvac but I'm not clear on how its done. Something about pushing and holding both the defrost and fan up buttons at the same time or something like that. Do a quick search and see if you can find it.
My 2008 did the same thing intermittently.
After several weeks of this, I took it to the dealer, they replaced the head unit no questions asked.
I took mine to Van Chevrolet in North Scottsdale. Az.
Good luck.

No, that sounds like the process to get the outside temperature sensor to update immediately. You press the 3 right-most A/C buttons at the same time, whatever they are. This is not in the manual.

If the system runs some kind of self test, then that might be the case. I would guess, if its not the head unit itself, then you might have a problem with the AC system as you suggest.
Sure would seem like a dealer would know if the system runs a self-test.

Cool, I'll try that and see if it works, then will remember it for future reference here. Thanks
