Man, that's a loaded question. Do a search on "cold air intakes" and you'll get all the info (and opinions) you need.

I had a similar question myself. I didn't bother asking on the forums because I knew I wouldn't get an answer.

I went on google and a lot of opinions leaned toward Halltech's air intake. There were other manufacturers mentioned but Halltech was the majority vote. That's what I plan on getting.

From further reading, it seems most would agree that buying "non criticial" parts for your car don't require it to be new. So you could probably pull off buying a used intake (provided it has low milelage; meaning that the previous owner hasn't used the intake for 100,000 miles already).

It's up to you though... for me, I'd get used parts because I'm new to all this (modding cars) and if I break something I won't feel bad because I didn't pay full price.

I'm not sure I understand what mileage has to do with a CAI as there is no moving parts, just air flow. I believe the overall condition of the CAI regardless of mileage should be the criteria for purchase.

If yours is a daily driver the K&N or Airaid should work just fine, I do like my Airaid

If I were you, I would rule out the Callaway Honker. I had a surging problem with the LS3 version of this intake. You can take your chances though because according to them only a few have this issue.
Of course (if you happen to be one of the few), you can purchase a diffuser panel for an additional $49.99 +shipping for a possible fix.

Just installed the Airaid and I am happy with it. I think it's a great compromise between power, safety (engine wise) and price (the most inexpensive of all, quality is top notch.)

I wouldn't be able to tell you. It's what I've been reading around the web.
