We don't have to but why not push the unlock button on the fob as we approach our car just to see our buddy light up? I do it once in a while as I approach the car just because it looks A little James Bond even. I really like to do it when someone is walking by the car and I am 30 yards away - it startles them a bit and they start looking around. A little harmless fun at the end of a long day I say. How about you?
No, mostly because I keep my fob in my pocket when I'm using the C6. Keeps me from accidentally having the fob in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Many cars now flash their DRLs or other lights when you unlock them with their fob. My wife's Pontiac Vibe does that.
I hang my fob off of my belt loop with a carabiner whenever fashion sense allows. I noticed that putting it in my pants pocket can trigger one of the buttons. Found that out one day when I sat down and the alarm went off.
I never use it to unlock the car.
I only use it if I decide to take the top off on a nice sunny day. I have a window valet, so I get to roll the windows down with the FOB, take the top off, put it in the hatch , and then get in.
Any other time, the FOB is always in my left pocket.

What is the window valet?
