My '08 is my 4th black vette. I didn't buy it to look safe and hide dust. I had a silver ZO6 and it felt like I was driving a Hyundai. No one noticed it. Black ones draw attention. On the street people turn around to watch it. Kids give 2 thumbs up. I've had all colors and nothing got that attention except black. The only other color I would consider is yellow. Black just looks mean!

I just got my vette last week and I must admit, people are impressed! I get a lot of "kudos" and "looks great" comments... Some from friends, some from strangers.
Mine's white with a black top. I think the contrast sets the car off!

had a c5 yellow vert and it was in-your-face "attitude" day or night.
black just "disappears" at night since is harder to distiguish.
i have had three black vehicles(non-vettes)and they were way too much to keep beautiful...yellow hid almost everything.
i now have a c6 atomic orange vert which was a killer color in the sun.,
and also hid everything
was hoping grand sport would offer some unique color, but i guess not.

I've had a Red C4, Silver C5 and now a Black C6....IMO Red is second to black although Red is easier to maintain...as for silver it runs third for me in my preferences...doesnt "shine" enough for me if that makes sense.....
Bottom line....ANY color Vette is awsome

While I'm a proud owner of a 3 month old black Vette....all the colors look great when they're on a Vette!
Actually my first choice was Crystal Red, but the '08's in the DFW area back in Feb. were running thin and it was either Black, Jetstream Blue, or Atomic Orange...
happy with my choice....

Black has the highest maintenance
If you want to attract more attention Red and or Orange will do it. Silver is the best color for stealth. Black absorbs heat and shows every imperfection as you know like, swirls, scratches and any imperfection paint flaws.
