I had a 96 coupe... I removed the Top 2 times.. the day I got it.. (It took me 1 hr to align it and get the 4 screws in... The following week I thought it did something wrong, read the manual ..removed the top AGAIN..
No luck still 1 hr trying to get those 4 bolts aligned and all started, then tightening each one, rechecking.. BTW it was 90 deg and I need a shower after replacing the roof.. I never took it off again in 12 yrs..
Besides when the top was off, it drove like hell frame would twist, shake etc...
I have had my C6 since Sept. and now the weather is getting nice, does the top come off the C6 a lot easier, and is the car still FIRM with no twist.. Last will the top go back on with no hassles..
You'll have to set aside about 30 seconds for removal and same for putting back on. Car performs the same with top off as the C6 was designed as a Vert.
I had a 95, yes it was a bit awkward to pop the top. The c6 top is only three in place latches. No worry of stripping or cross threading little bolts or finding the wrench. I do the c6 top in less than a minute. It is also lighter and a bit smaller than the c4 top. Try it you like it!

I used to remove my C4 top all the time. It took about 5 minutes to get it off and stored and 10 minutes to get it back on. The C6 takes one minute each direction. The biggest hassle removing is getting it stored and the biggest hassle restoring is remembering which latch to fasten first. (always front first and rear last)
One warning you should be aware of is in the manual:
Do not try to remove a roof panel while the vehicle is moving. Trying to remove the roof panel while the vehicle is moving could cause an accident. The panel could fall into the vehicle and cause you to lose control, or it could fly off and strike another vehicle. You or others could be injured. Remove the roof panel only when the vehicle is parked.
It is also hard running along side trying to get the roof latched in the back.

There is no comparison between the C4 top and the C6 top. The C6 is easy, the C4's top is a disgrace to automotive engineering.
MUCH easier taking the C6 top off with 2 people, but it can be done by yourself.
Mine made terrible clicking/creaking noise in the beginning.....I just masked the area and sprayed some white lithium grease on rollers, and so far so good.
Only complaint is the high level or highway speed wind noise coming from the halo area.
Just remember to latch the top after you put it back on, many members here have posted about the "thousand dollar surprise" as the unlatched top flys off at about 30 mph.
My procedure is to ignore anyone and anything else while reinstalling the top to avoid distractions. Also, put the visors down BEFORE putting the top back on, and don't flip them up until the top is latched. Being paranoid is helpful.
Topless in the Coupe is great fun, just remember the sunscreen before starting out; the breeze will keep you comfortable until it's waaay too late.
Also, long trips at highway speed work best with earplugs, it's the noise that tires you out more than the wind.
It's extremely easy to remove, stow-away and re-install the roof panel. If you've never done it before have a friend spot you the first couple times you practice doing it. Once you do it you'll see how simple it is. One other caution, take proper precaution if it's windy outside...the roof panel becomes a sail.
