Just noticed that shell is advertizing "v power" with nitrogen...I've been using chevron with techron for years & have had numerous problems with the fuel system. The dic reads check gauges, I do & the fuel gauge says empty when I'm full. It's been in the shop @ the local dealership twice. First time they recalibrated the sending card, second time they dumped a bottle of fuel system concentrate cleaner in the tank...(do I qualify for the G.M. buy back program?)...they said next time they will drop the tanks etc. & do a VISUAL on all the components & replace what they think is necessary! WTF??? This is their FIRST & ONLY Corvette with this problem. They say it's a fuel problem, I suspect something else. I only use 91 octane, that's all we can get in Calif. Any & all advice would be appreciated!
It's not a fuel problem unless there's something wrong with the stations you've been going to. It'd also have to be more than one station, assuming you go to more than one.

I wouldn't rule out the gas station being the problem. It doesn't take much to screw up the system.
Here in the midwest back around 04 or 05, we had issues with a lot of the independant stations. The problem was too much sulphur in the gasoline. Ashland/Marathon/Mobile, spent millions repairing fuel sendinig units in the fuel tanks. I had a 96 chrysler and a 98 Indy Pace Car that both had to have the sending units replaced. Mobile paid for both vehicles to be repaired . I now only run Chevron or Shell in the Vette or any other V8 that I own. I run a can of Techron through Vette about every 6 months just as a precaution.
Al I use is Chevron and I have not had any issues. That is what I used in my C5 as well. It is probably the fuel sender. I had it replaced in my C5, but nothing in my C6.
Just as a side note, I moonlighted for awhile helping out a buddy of mine who operates a chain of Shell stations up in Alaska. According to him, and he's been in the retail fuel business for years, Shell V-Power and Chevron's Techron are the same fuel. Apparently the same truck fills both the v-power and techron tanks up there.
