Default Event Status Code

I have a order number of my 09, dealer said it's due in around July 4th. Is the dealer the one that can get these codes?

The dealer should be able to print out the GM OrderWorkBench order detail of your order. That will show the code status and show production week date. Do you have 6 digit order #?

With your order number and as noted above, the dealer can access the GM Order workbench and print out a complete status of your order and the progress of that order through the system.

Here is the list of status event codes.

STATUS EVENT CODES
1100-Order placed at dealer
1101-Order accepted by GM
2001-Order generated to dealer
2005-Order replaced with GM Prospec order
2050-Order changed
2500-Order sent to production, preferenced
3000-Order accepted by production control
3100-Order available to sequence (now the tpw becomes more stable)
3300-Order selected for production by assembly plant
3400-Order broadcasted for production
3800-Vehicle produced
4150-Vehicle invoiced to dealer
4200-Vehicle shipped
5000-Vehicle delivered to dealer
6000-Vehicle delivered to customer

Your dealer should be able to give you one of these numbers and this list will let you know where in the system it is and how truthful they are being with you. The order will also have a TPW assigned which is the target production week. What they can't tell you exactly is when it is going to arrive. That depends on Allied transportation and the amount of cars they have headed to your area. They will hold the car until they have a full truck headed to your area.

So where would a status code of 4B00 fall? I'm assuming somewhere between 4150 and 4200 since that's the last status my dealer pulled from the system after he was invoiced and was given an estimated delivery date of 4/29. That was back at the end of April. I'm still waiting for the car to ship.

That code is 4"B"00, which means "Bayed". Meaning the car has been built and is most likely awaiting shipment.

That I already knew as my car has been in that status for a month now. I was curious because it wasn't in Talon's list. I'm guessing it must be a code between 4150 and 4200 as the dealer was invoiced for the car on 4/21, but it hasn't entered into the event code of 4200 yet.

Michael's got you covered. It isn't on the list because it generally passes very quickly. Once the car has completed assembly and transferred to Allied it can take on that status while waiting for shipment. It is generally a day to a week for that code to change depending upon destination. These shutdown periods are really messing with the system.

So "lucky" me, I've gotten to see my car in a 4B00 status for nearly a month now. I wonder if that's a record?

6/22 is the Target Production Week (TPW), not the day it will be built. It'll actually be on the line about 4 or 5 days.

Hopefully, they'll start on it on Monday/Tuesday that week and have it out by the end of the week. Otherwise, it could end up sitting on the line while the plant is shutdown for (I think) the next 3 weeks (6/29-7/19).

Also, are you getting a GT1 or Competition Sport special edition? If so, then it will have to go from the factory to the upfitter to have the striping applied. I found that adds another week at least (it added a month for me as apparently they didn't have the materials to do the striping in stock). Fortunately, the plant shutdowns do not affect the striping process (since it's not done by GM employees).
My car (GT1 Special Edition) was built the week of 4/15 and completed by the plant on 4/21. The striping wasn't completed until last Thursday, and it's now finally ready to ship. Just waiting now for full truck heading my way from BG.

Have the plant down times changed? Last I heard they were going to be down the weeks of 6/1, 6/8, 7/6, 7/13.

Yeah - I think they added an extra week of downtime the last week of June into the first few days of July. The last 2 weeks of July I think they'll be pushing out the last of the 2009 models.

At least that's what I've heard.

4200-Vehicle shipped
5000-Vehicle delivered to dealer
6000-Vehicle delivered to customer

Here's the interesting sequence of events/codes my GT1 Special Edition went through (as pulled from GM workbench by my dealer):

1100 Preliminary Order 03/05/2009
1102 Preliminary Order 03/05/2009
2000 Accepted by GM 03/09/2009
2500 Preferenced 03/09/2009
3000 Accepted by Production Control 03/09/2009
3100 Available to Sequence 03/19/2009
3300 Scheduled for Production 03/19/2009
3400 Broadcast 03/21/2009
3800 Produced 04/21/2009
4000 Available to Ship 04/21/2009
4150 Original Invoice 04/21/2009
4B00 Bayed 04/21/2009
6000 Delivered to Customer 04/25/2009
4B00 Bayed 05/13/2009
4200 Shipped 05/13/2009
4300 Intermediate Delivery 05/13/2009
4B00 Bayed 05/21/2009
4200 Shipped 05/21/2009
4300 Intermediate Delivery 05/21/2009
4B00 Bayed 05/21/2009

It shows delivered to customer as the dealer and I closed the deal in April to take advantage of the April $1000 rebate incentive (at the time, we assumed the car was done and ready to ship - GM showed an estimated delivery date of 4/29 at the time).

All the other Bayed/Shipped events is the car shipping between the Assembly plant and the upfitter where the striping was applied.

It's now finally Bayed for actual shipment to me.
According to Allied, it should be going out on a truck early this week (hopefully by tomorrow so it might be here by this weekend).

Thanks - waiting does suck, especially when it doesn't arrive when you were first led to believe it would. Worse was not really knowing why it was delayed so long.
Dealer checked this afternoon - wasn't shipped yet. Hoping it goes out tomorrow (at least the plant is operating this week, so there's a good chance there will be enough cars to fill a truck sometime this week).
