Ok so I'm looking for new tires but I can't decide which way to go here is some info about my driving habits and my car:
I drive around 50 miles a day
I occasionally Auto-X
I have the Z51 package and have enjoyed the SuperCar tires
I've thought about staying with the OEM setup and just replacing the SuperCars. I've also considered upgrading to the Michelin PilotSport PS2 ZP tires. But then again I could save some money and get better tread life by switching to the Firehawks. I'm just so confused by my many options. So help me Corvette Forum! What is everyone driving on here?
I have used the Michelins on my C5 and did not find then any different than the original Goodyears. One thing I did find different was the distance you could drive on a flat tire and some of the run flats did not have the ability to be repaired.
I bought a set of GY F1 Supercars that were take-offs from a forum member locally and saved a bunch . . . I then bought BFG KDW's from another guy and mounted them up with TPS on a spare set of wheels.
So - - I've got runflats for road trips and non-runflat sticky BFG's for more spirited "performance" driving and carry a patch kit, air pump and AAA card.
Spent about the same amount as I would have to buy just the GY Supercars at a tire store.
From: The Great Pacific Northwest...........I carry a gun cause a cops too heavy.

And the faster they wear.
The GY supercars are rated at 60. I'm looking into BFG KDWII with a UTQG rating of 300 AAA, and they make them in a size one size wider but the same diameter as stock so they will fit on the stock wheels and not confuse the wheel sensors.
