'05 exhaust note

'05 exhaust note
Please pardon my ignorance, as I'm a first time vette owner, a '05 vert to be exact. In my comparison of my 'new' to me vette to two rental's I've had in FL, my exhaust sound doesn't appear to be as mean (loud, growling) as I heard on the two '08's I've had for rentals from Hertz in FL. Was there an option for a quieter exhaust on the first model year, and how can I go about changing that to the more robust, albeit not obnoxious sound you hear on a newer, run of the mill vette?
