Default Trunk unlock button

Wondering if anyone has had trouble with the trunk unlock button above the license plate. Mine does not work.

This is a common problem. I had mine replaced less than 6 months after purchase. There is a thread on how to take the button out and apart to fix the problem. Not sure where you will have to do a search.

I have not had a problem, but Talon90 posted a detailed description showing how to fix the issue. Basically you need to remove the switch and clean it. Do a search...

Talon's thread is great...lots of pics and very clearly explained...unless you like throwing things away when they get dirty, his thread is the way to go.

Excellent help. The rubber cover was gone so I had to modifiy the switch to keep the button from falling out. I'll probable have to replace it at some point but we'll see. at least it is now working. Thanks All.

I had to replace mine in my 09, see Gene at GMPARTSHOUSE the switch is like $8.49
