What ever happened to the Corvette Summer Stingray?

That movie was very inspirational to me in my love of Corvettes and customizing. I admit that car looks very gaudy and over the top in this day and age, but as far as the story in the movie goes, it was awesome!
Just think about it, a high school student resurrects this totaled, falling apart car from the scrap heap to build HIS dream car. Yes, it was with his autoshop classmates, but he was the driving force in it's creation. Then he goes on an all out adventure meeting all kinds of characters for the love of his car. I think I was only 7 or 8 when I first saw it, but I remember thinking, "When I'm old enough, I want to build a car and love it as much as this kid did."
Admittedly, I have the DVD and still watch the movie every few years. LOL!

The story was cool and made us all want to be in Mark's shoes in HS. Sadly, not too many got an actual opportunity to do so.

Melting Slicks
I just saw this car last weekend at the car show at the Pavilions in Scottsdale AZ. It rolled in and almost threw-up. It might have been a replica, but it was ButtUgly none the less. The only saving grace was the honey driving it was pretty hot.
